A Private Atelier Experience in Kamakura

Make Your Own Hanko in Kamakura
— A Private Atelier Experience

Design your hanko with a nationally certified master engraver in our Kamakura atelier — Kanji, Katakana, or your own design. Take it home the same afternoon.

We will show you several ways your name can be written in Japanese, then carve an original hanko that is yours alone. After you complete the design, our master engraves your name — and your finished hanko is ready later the same afternoon.

For visitors to Japan, our atelier offers a rare opportunity to encounter the making process up close. You may explore how names are interpreted, how materials are chosen, and how a personal signet takes shape through hand-carving. It is not simply a workshop, but an intimate encounter with Japanese craft.

A HANKO MEANT TO BE INHERITED

A hanko is not made to be used once. It is made to be passed down. Each piece carries your name through a lifetime — and beyond.

VISIT THE KAMAKURA ATELIER

Kamakura gives KAMAKURA SIGNET its atmosphere: quiet, historical, disciplined, and deeply tactile. Here, each work is designed, carved, and finished in an environment where craft is not a trend, but a way of life. The result is a signet that carries the spirit of place as much as the name it bears.
