Tsuge Wood Hanko (Square) — Japanese boxwood, in a calligrapher’s form.
A square seal in honest Japanese boxwood — the form traditionally favoured by calligraphers and painters to mark their work. The first step into a hand-finished studio piece.
Why this material
- Japanese boxwood (tsuge), fine-grained and warm in tone.
- The square form sits firmly between the fingers — deliberate, present in use.
- Hard enough to hold a precise, lasting impression.
